Well I’ve been interested in this since maybe around 1987/1988(ish) when I used to stare at the Camcorders in Sony + Panasonic brochures from the now defunct local electrical retailer Lawsons. But I didn’t get my mitts on anything capable of recording sounds & video until 2006 when I bought my first digital camera, that Fuji A345 I mentioned on the Photography page. The footage from it wasn’t exactly brilliant, but it was a start, I guess.

The end of August 2007 of course saw the arrival of my Fuji S6500fd, and the video on that was WAY better.....

2011 saw the arrival of my Fuji F550EXR Digital compact, which took my videoclips HD, well actually I had tha Sony Bloggie thing in 2010 first, but i’m not sure what I’ve got off that uploaded to Youtube... anyway, here’s some footage from the Fuji F550 which shows what it’s capable of but also why I still wasn’t satisfied (focus not auto-adjusting fast enough when changing the Zoom, otherwise it’s brilliant).....

That’s when the opportunity arose to become equipped with a Panasonic HDC-SD800 Camcorder, which is probably best I’m gonna be able to get unless I make enough money somehow to upgrade to some Sony/Panasonic 4K jobbie.
